Privacy policy
The German version is legally binding; this English version is provided for convenience.

Director’s Cut Medienproduktion, Friedhelm Rothweiler and Nikolaus Grünwald, Römerweg 8, 70839 Gerlingen, Germany · +49 160 5566349 · hello@directorscut.film
2. Hosting and log files
This site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Deutschland under a data processing agreement. The servers are located in Germany. Log files may contain your IP address, date and time, requested URL and HTTP status and, for errors, browser identifier and referrer. They serve the secure and stable operation of the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and are deleted automatically after 7 days at the latest.
3. Contact form, email and phone
Name, email address and message are required; everything else is optional. We use the details you send us only to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once it is resolved, unless retention is required by law. They are stored in a database on our server and forwarded to us by email. To prevent abuse, your IP address is briefly held in memory to limit request frequency; it is not stored permanently.
4. Films on YouTube and Vimeo
Some of our films are hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) or Vimeo (Vimeo, Inc., USA); others are served from our own server without any third-party connection. They are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and only load after you click “Play film”. The provider then receives your IP address and may store cookies. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). Transfers to the USA are possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Where no adequacy decision applies to a provider, your consent also covers the transfer to the USA (Art. 49 (1) (a) GDPR); an equivalent level of protection cannot always be guaranteed there and authorities may access the data. Preview images are stored on our own server.
5. Fonts, cookies, local storage
Fonts are hosted locally. We set no advertising or analytics cookies and use no tracking services. On your first visit a consent banner asks whether external media (YouTube, Vimeo) may be loaded. We store your choice only in your browser (local storage): one entry with the version and time of your decision and, per provider, one entry if you agreed. This data does not leave your device and is not sent to us, so we cannot see your decision. Storing the choice is technically necessary to respect it (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can change or withdraw your choice with effect for the future at any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer; withdrawal immediately unloads embedded third-party content. You can also delete the entries in your browser, after which the banner appears again. Accepting and declining are equally prominent; without consent the site remains fully usable. Visiting the login page of the closed admin area sets a strictly necessary session cookie (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG); visitors of the public pages receive no cookie.
6. Use of artificial intelligence (AI)
Operating the website: We do not use AI systems that process visitor data. There is no chatbot, no AI-based personalisation and no profiling, and no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. What you enter in the contact form is not sent to AI services.
Creating the website: The code, technical implementation and drafts of some texts were created with the help of an AI-assisted development tool (Claude by Anthropic PBC, USA). No personal data of visitors was used. We reviewed the results and are editorially responsible for all content.
Transparency under the AI Act: In line with the transparency provisions of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act, Art. 50) we point out the AI use described above. Should this website show image, audio or video content that was generated or substantially altered by AI, we label it as such.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent (Art. 15–21, Art. 7 (3) GDPR). You may object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart.
